BeeEducated · Annual continuing professional development

Keep your professional knowledge current. Keep your original achievement verifiable.

Responsible husbandry means continuing to learn. The annual £29 CPD cycle combines reflective practice and relevant updates to help you review your decisions as evidence, bee-health threats and guidance change. Payment alone does not establish current CPD status; CPD is not annual reassessment of every practical skill. For the 2027 Founding Cohort, the first planned CPD year starts in January 2029.

A clear, repeatable annual process

On 1 January, the credential holder receives an invitation to enrol. CPD currency describes current learning and reflection; it does not erase or re-grade original competence.

1. Statement of Currency

Submit a structured reflective statement about current practice. Submission immediately unlocks the online CPD learning module.

2. Relevant updates and knowledge check

Complete the annual learning and achieve at least 80% overall, with every critical statutory, safety, welfare and biosecurity item answered correctly. Repeat the learning and check as needed before 31 March.

3. Fair quality review

Statements are reviewed on a risk basis. Where further explanation is needed, BeeEducated identifies the gap before Current status is confirmed.

Public credential status

Original achievement and ongoing currency are different records.

A certificate, grade and achievement date remain verifiable even if CPD later becomes Not Current. If all annual requirements were submitted on time but the BeeEducated review is outstanding, the public record displays CPD Review Pending — Submitted on Time instead of imposing an administrative-delay penalty.

Where annual CPD has not been completed by 31 March, currency is no longer shown as Current from 1 April. A separate competence review may be required after more than twelve months of inactive currency.

The CPD system is being prepared for Moodle. This page describes the approved programme design, not a currently open CPD checkout.
