A credential is only useful if assessment decisions can be trusted. BeeEducated is therefore being designed around documented, auditable quality-assurance processes rather than relying on one person’s opinion.
Qualified and occupationally competent people
Assessors and IQAs must have the relevant occupational competence and appropriate assessment or quality-assurance capability for the role they perform. Developing professionals can work under supervision, but independent sign-off is restricted until the required competence is demonstrated.
Internal Quality Assurance
IQA samples assessment decisions and feedback, checks consistency and challenges decisions that are too lenient or too demanding. Where a decision is selected for IQA, the beekeeper receives one final quality-assured decision rather than conflicting assessor and IQA messages.
Standardisation
Professionals take part in structured standardisation so the same KSB is interpreted consistently. Standard changes are version-controlled and their assessment impact is recorded.
Independence and conflicts
EPA has additional independence requirements. A beekeeper’s EPA Assessor cannot also have been their portfolio Assessor, IQA or Mentor/Expert Witness. Conflicts must be identified and managed.
Appeals and correction
BeeEducated intends to use staged clarification, review, formal appeal and independent final appeal routes. A good-faith appeal should not disadvantage a beekeeper. Where BeeEducated is wrong, the decision should be corrected and wider impact considered.
External escalation
Where the required internal independence is not available, or Lead IQAs disagree on a technical assessment interpretation, an appropriately qualified and independent external QA professional can be appointed for that matter.
